Hayden Panettiere is the latest Hollywood star to embark on a pop career.
The Heroes star played her first single Wake Up Call on Ryan Seacrest's KISS-FM radio show, and admitted that hearing the tracks on the radio were 'scary' and 'terrifying'.
"They're a little bit eclectic," the 18-year-old said, adding that her new album has been four years in the making.
"[The music] changed so much over the years," said Hayden, confessing she is a fan of a diverse selection of musicians, from Luciano Pavarotti to rapper Nas.
"Just because my life experiences and who I am as a person is obviously reflected in the music."
The actress also discussed the new much anticipated season of Heroes - the cast having completed six episodes already.
"Everyone's so excited about it," she says of the upcoming season of Heroes, which screens in the US and UK in September.
"It's the same action, the same high-intensity as the first season. A couple of us actually get to play two different characters because for a second we go back and forth between the present and future and our future characters are very different."
